Anicca Project is a musical experience by Akshay Chawda, blending the meditative sounds of the handpan, intricate konnakkol rhythms, flute melodies, and MIDI synth through live looping.

“Anicca” means the law of impermanence. It refers to the idea that all things, including emotions, experiences, and even the self, are in a constant state of change. This philosophy is reflected in Akshay’s live performances, where soundscapes emerge, evolve, and dissolve in real-time.

Akshay Chawda is a music composer and multi-instrumentalist hailing from New Delhi, India. He’s one of the few Handpan players in the country, showcasing his unique musical flair.

Anicca Project is featuring 4 unique Shows:

Solo Handpan
Experience the meditative sounds of the handpan. This intimate setup highlights the unique tones and rhythms of the instrument, perfect for creating a serene and captivating atmosphere.

Electro-Acoustic Solo set
It is a blend of traditional and modern sounds. This performance features the mesmerising tones of the
handpan combined with the Indian rhythmic art of konnakkol (vocal percussion), all intertwined with electronic live loops.

Duo Performance
• Audio-Visual experience. Electro-Acoustic set with Bharatnatyam Dancer.
• Electro-Acoustic set with a fellow musician to bring a harmonious and layered musical
performance. This setup features instruments like Rabab/Sarod/Flute/Sitar enhancing depth and
texture of the music.

Trio Performance
Handpan + Percussion (Tabla/Cajon) + Flute/Sitar/Rabab/Sarod. Every Musician adds his/her flavour to the compositions. Trio setup offers more complex and engaging musical experience, the adds another layer of instrumentation and interaction. This configuration allows for intricate arrangements and improvisation, creating a fuller and more immersive soundscape.
